Bikey Tours

Come and ride the world with us!

If there is one thing the team at Bikey Tours love, then it is exploring new roads, climbing new mountains and experiencing different cultures. Any cyclist would agree that this is a lot more immersive when done by bike, rather than by plane/train/automobile.

We also love having a solid plan, knowing what we are in for and what not to miss. There is nothing worse than getting frustrated because the program, routes, ride options aren't clear or take ages to map out.

Bikey Tours draws on our combined experience of hundreds of thousands of ride kilometres across many countries, over countless mountains and along countless lakes and beautiful scenery.

We will help you design and manage your perfect cycling adventure with daily routes and maps specifically for you, suggestions and even images of your ride route. We can adjust options to allow for various rider capabilities, preferred terrain.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy: to offer a changing selection of tours that provide new routes, scenery and climbs to experienced riders. After all, there is more to Europe than the TdF, Giro or Vuelta (although of course we do love them). And there are so many other challenging and amazing climbs that are barely looked at during more traditional tours. Let alone continents….(check out our Colorado Tour here)

We have set ourselves the challenge to cater for those riders whose primary objective is to ride solid distances and vertical metres most days, and we have a team that can support you.

Don’t worry though, there will also be some scenic routes and some easier options to cater for those riders who do not have the appetite for long distances every day.

To provide some guidance, we have rated the tours and the daily ride options into the following categories (based on our tour guides’ capabilities):
Mountain Goat – 17,500+km, 300,000 vertical metres+ per year
Donkey –12,000 – 17,500km, 150,000-300,000 vertical metres per year
Giraffe - around 12,000km, 50,000-150,000 vertical metres per year

Meet The Team

Nicola De Marco – The Goat

The Climbing Machine
Nicola De Marco, better known as The Goat, is a force of nature on two wheels. In 2024 alone, he racked up an eye-watering 50,000km and climbed over 1 million meters—yes, one million—putting him among the top 5 riders on Strava worldwide. His love for the mountains is unmatched, and no gradient is too steep for this Italian powerhouse.

Meticulous & Methodical
The Goat doesn’t just ride; he masters the art of cycling. From his impeccably maintained bike to his methodical ride planning and preparation, every detail is accounted for. Whether it’s a long day in the saddle or a brutal climb ahead, Nicola is always ready to conquer whatever challenge comes his way.

The Ride Leader with a Soft Side
Despite his relentless drive, The Goat is more than just watts and altitude. As a ride leader, he brings energy, laughter, and a touch of cheekiness to every group ride. He loves a good conversation, always ready with a joke or an encouraging word. Loveable and charismatic, he’s the guy you want by your side when the road gets tough.

The Italian Touch
Proud of his roots, Nicola speaks fluent Italian and carries that effortless European style wherever he goes. While he doesn’t often drink, he won’t say no to an Aperol Spritz on a special occasion. If you’re looking to impress him at dinner, forget the fancy meals—just bring a bottle of soda water and a box of cereal. A true cheap date!

The Descending Daredevil
Climbing mountains is one thing, but descending them at lightning speed is another—and The Goat does both with equal finesse. If you want to push your limits on the climbs and descend like a rocket, Nicola De Marco is your man.

🚴 Ride hard. Climb high. Descend fast. Follow The Goat. 🏔️🔥

Susanne Bransgrove – The Giraffe

The Seasoned Climber
With over 20 years of riding and racing experience, Susanne Bransgrove—better known as The Giraffe—is a true veteran of the sport. While she may not be the fastest, she has an unshakable determination that gets her over every mountain, even if it sometimes takes a bit of gritted-teeth perseverance. Her secret? A methodical approach, a steady rhythm, and an ability to hold her pace all the way to the summit.

Centre Perfect – Precision in Motion
Susanne’s nickname Centre Perfect is well earned. Her bike setup? Flawless. Her riding style? Immaculate. Every detail is dialed in to perfection—German efficiency at its finest. A lover of process, order, and meticulous preparation, she ensures that everything is just right, both on and off the bike.

The Social Climber (Literally & Figuratively)
While Susanne is driven and focused during a ride, she’s also an engaging and chatty companion on the road. If you find yourself next to The Giraffe on a climb, buckle up for an entertaining conversation—she can talk all the way to the top!

From the Road to the Stage
Off the bike, Susanne’s love for karaoke comes alive. Once she’s got the mic, good luck getting a turn—she’s not giving it up easily! Whether belting out classics or keeping the post-ride vibes high, she’s always up for a bit of fun.

A Taste for the Classics
Like a true world traveler and cycling connoisseur, Susanne has conquered every ride on tour. And when the ride is done? Soda water is her go-to, but if you twist her arm for a drink (just one), she’ll take a Campari and soda, true to her refined taste.

Why “The Giraffe”?
Well, if you ever see her break into a run, the reason will become clear. Just ask her, or better yet—get her to demonstrate!

🚴‍♀️ Methodical, precise, and always up for a chat—The Giraffe is a rider like no other. 🦒✨

Greg Griffith – The Donkey

The Relentless Rider
Greg Griffith, better known as The Donkey, may have only discovered cycling seven years ago, but he’s taken to it like a duck to water—or rather, like a donkey to Shrek movies (because let’s be honest, without Donkey, Shrek wouldn’t work!).

A solid climber, Greg isn’t out to break records, but in 2024 alone, he clocked over 13,000km and climbed 150,000 meters—a testament to his steady determination.

Climbing for the Thrill of the Descent
Greg doesn’t climb for the sake of it—he climbs because what goes up must come down. And when it comes to descending, he’s got nerves of steel, hitting a blistering 96km/h in 2024 (though he’s still kicking himself for not cracking triple digits).

The Aussie of the Group
As the token Aussie, Greg brings his signature dry wit and sarcasm to every ride. Fluent in English (allegedly), he keeps the group entertained with his sharp sense of humor.

The Sensible One (and Best Cook!)
While others might get carried away, Greg is the voice of reason—the sensible one in the pack. But when the ride is done, he knows how to unwind, whipping up the best post-ride meals with his legendary cooking skills.

A Man of Simple Pleasures
Greg doesn’t mind a beer to finish off a long day in the saddle, but if the crew twists his arm, he’ll join in for a spritz of any kind, but he'll make sure he's fresh for the next days riding.

🚴 Steady on the climb, fearless on the descent, and always up for a laugh—The Donkey keeps the group rolling.🫏🔥
